I too am having this error when trying to install the HP All-in-one software on my HP 7310xi. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, deleted all printer drivers per HPs instruction and have deleted the entries from the registry files per HP guidance. Reinstalling either the web downloaded or the hardcopy CD software still results in the error messages. I have been working with the HP mail support folks on this and they have just referred me to their Advanced Support Group who has not contacted me as of this message. I need my printer back.
